We were privileged to be visited on January 30th 2019 by the Chairman of Maldon District Council (MDC), Cllr Henry Bass and Communications Officer, Chris Voisey. Cllr Bass came to Othona to find out more about the Community and what happens here as part of a wider plan to visit various businesses, organisations and local community groups in the Maldon district to show support and promote the district as a great place to live, work and enjoy. They were able to hear from our Warden, Tim about the history of the Community and had a tour of the site. Cllr Bass was very impressed by the work going on here and our varied programme and we are hoping to work more closely with MDC in future to promote Othona to the wider community. The minutes are now available from the Othona Bradwell Centre Committee Stratgey day meeting held in Bradwell on Saturday 10th November 2018.
We had a very productive Open meeting during the recent Half Term Activity Week. This was an opportunity for anyone staying here during the week to come along and hear a little of the history of Othona, to ask questions, hear about plans, share views and find out how to join in more. The Othona Community AGM is being held on Saturday 22nd September at St Andrew's Church, Short Street, London SE1 8LJ.
