The trustees of the Othona community are delighted to announce that Richard and Debbie Sanders have been appointed on a job share basis to the role of centre manager at Othona Bradwell. They will be starting on 1st May after a handover period with Tim. We know that members will be pleased by the news and will give them their full support. Recruitment for colleagues to work with them begins imminently.
We are really pleased that in partnership with Matt King we have been awarded £10k from the National Lottery Community Fund as part of their 'Together for Our Planet' programme. The UK Government’s Together for Our Planet initiative has been created to engage people with COP26 and inspire positive climate action. Matt is the CEO of Trustlinks, which is an independent charity supporting those experiencing mental health difficulties in South East Essex and a member of Othona. Matt ran our very popular summer event this year- Permaculture, Wellbeing and Community Change Week. As many of you know, John died on 11th April 21 aged 86, having been diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour in January. He died peacefully in his sleep in our Spanish home as he wished, and he now lies at peace in the village cemetery in Sedella.

The Othona Community is looking for Trustees/Directors linked to the Centre in Essex, to act as both Trustees to the Othona Trust and the Directors of the Othona Community Company.
Time commitment: 2 trustee weekends / year. Zoom: AGM + 4 evening meetings. One Committee day at Bradwell, plus 3 Zoom or onsite. Line Manager: monthly + guidance
