We are sad to announce the death of Vera Higginson, just short of her hundredth birthday. Vera and Bernard came to the Community in 1963 brought like so many by Harold Johnson and they remained faithful members of Othona ever since. They were great workers and were part of the party cutting down the brambles during the first year at what was then our new centre at Burton Bradstock and members of the working parties which kept Bradwell going in 1980. Vera was also secretary to the executive committee for some years.

The Chair's notes from the recent Trustee & Wardens meeting in Burton Bradstock are now available to read, please go to the link below. A major focus of the meeting was the exciting proposed energy project at Othona Bradwell with the aim of making the site fossil fuel free, thereby reducing our C02 emissions by 95%. This will be achieved by the installation of a biomass boiler and a additional larger wind turbine.
Notes from the Chair are now available from the AGM in September this year. Please take a look in the link below. Next years AGM will be held in the same venue, Livingspace, 1 Coral Street, Waterloo, SE1 7BE, date to be confirmed.
Richard would be delighted if as many of the Othona Community as possible were able to go along to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood. Further details are on the attached poster.

We are sad to announce the death of Gillian Macklow. Gillian was introduced to Othona in 1971 by her uncle, Graham Whibley, who was a friend of Norman Motley. Gill loved Othona and brought all her children and grandchildren over the years. She remained an active Community member, visiting for the last time in the summer of 2018.
Gill will be remembered by Othona as a gentle and kind soul, a diligent Community member and an excellent bread baker. She loved the opportunities for worship, fellowship, music and nature that Othona offered, and she will be greatly missed by all that knew her. Gill is survived by her husband Chris, her four children, Jerry, Marcus, Alex and Kate and her three grandsons, Daniel, William and Archie.
Gillian’s Memorial Service will be held at... Read More
