Monday 19th June - Friday 23rd June 2023
Space is available on this event
The retreat will focus on an appreciation of land, sea & sky in the Celtic Christian tradition, using poetry, prayerful walking and led meditations. It can be difficult to make time for inner peacefulness & to be fully present to the places we find ourselves. This quiet week is an invitation to rest awhile and enjoy some time & space at Othona.
The retreat will encourage us to rejoice in the Essex coastal landscape & the presence of God in all things. There will be opportunities to practise attentiveness through led meditations, poetry and consciously walking and, perhaps swimming too. The week is a chance for you to step aside & rest awhile.
The week is being led by partners, Jane Pearse & Catherine Bond. They are both spiritual directors, have led pilgrimages & quiet days & have been ordained. Celtic Christian spirituality is important to them both. Jane loves the outdoors, poetry, walking & encouraging participation. Catherine has run a retreat centre, has completed the full Ignatian exercises, teaches meditation, enjoys creativity & exploring her faith through art – both others’ & her own. They both love sea bathing - so do bring swimming things!
