Into the Wilderness

A weekend retreat for Lent led by Revd. Brigid Main

Friday 1st March - Sunday 3rd March 2024

Space is available on this event

An opportunity to step into Lent and follow Jesus in the wilderness. There will be space to reflect on what a wilderness experience might mean for us in these times of global uncertainty.

An opportunity to use all our senses to experience what God may be saying to each of us.

We may be surprised at what we hear and what we have to offer.

Our vulnerability allows us to open up to God’s grace in the upside-down values of the kingdom. In the wilderness we face ourselves as we really are and discover that God's love for us is without limit.

The weekend will be a mixture of talks, silence, worship and exploration of the ‘wilderness’ around Othona

Programme for the Weekend- Into the Wilderness

Brigid retired as Chaplain to the Chapel of St Peter-on-the-Wall, Bradwell-on-Sea in 2019. She trained as a Speech and Language Therapist and still has an interest in encouraging vocal skills. For 10 years she was Associate Priest at Pleshey whilst her husband Laurie was House Manager at The Retreat House and during that time she set up the Pastoral Assistants training in the Diocese.

She loves leading retreats and Quiet Days and during lockdown discovered the joy of an online ministry..
