This weekend is suitable for people who have small woodlands or areas of trees in community spaces, schools, church yards etc and who want to get started in making the most of their woodland. Learn how to manage your land to improve biodiversity, carbon capture, climate resilience and as a space to benefit all.
This weekend will cover:
- what to do when
- pruning and thinning with hand tools
- woodland creation
- pests and diseases
- invasive species
- woodland risk assessments
Becky Wilkinson is Learning and Outreach Manager for the Royal Forestry Society, a Forest School Leader and manages her own small woodland.
Arrivals: from 3pm Friday - first meal is dinner at 7pm
Departures: 3pm Sunday
Costs: We have two rates for adults £100 (Basic Rate) or £125 (*Benefactor Rate), If you would like to camp then adults are £75 (Basic Rate) or £100 (Benefactor Rate). If you are able to afford the Benefactor rate this helps to support the work of Othona and enables us to provide bursaries to support those who cannot afford to come. Normal child rates apply (Child Rates).
