Essex Green Weekend ***CAMPING AND DAY VISITORS ONLY***

Join us for this weekend to find out how we can influence Climate Change

    Space is available on this event for those wishing to camp or attend as day visitors

    The Essex Green Weekend is a small family friendly festival which welcomes everyone who is interested or concerned about "green" matters. We have artists and activists, permaculturists and scholars. We also have an eclectic range of music acts. This will be the third year of holding the Essex Green Weekend and we hope to make it the best yet!     This event is run in partnership with Trustlinks Charity  The Essex Green Weekend engages communities, faith groups and anyone interested in climate change action. Taking place at Othona Bradwell, on the shores of the Blackwater Estuary between 14th June to 17th June 2024, the Essex Green Weekend is an amazing opportunity to gain a better understanding of how to:

    • Take Climate Action
    • Celebrate action taken
    • Connect with likeminded people and organisations through networking and a range of activities, workshops and entertainment

    Essex Green Weekend 2022

    We are offering spaces at a subsidised rate to enable everyone to attend. There is plenty of space for camping and day visitors are very welcome.

     

     

    We will be showing the film- Six inches of soil- on Sunday evening at 7,45pm followed by a Q&A session. The film describes the inspiring story of young British farmers standing up against the industrial food system and transforming the way they produce food- to heal the soil, our health and provide for local communities. Here is a link to a short trailer- Six Inches of Soil. You are welocme to come as a day visitor or just for a film in the evening for a donation.

     

    Arrivals: from 3pm Friday - first meal is dinner at 7pm

    Departures: 11 am Monday

    Cost: Rooms are charged at £112 per Adult for the whole weekend (3 nights), normal child rates apply (Pricing policy). If you would like to bring your own tent/campervan/caravan for the event then there is a reduced price of  Adults £30/24hrs or £60 for the whole weekend (3 nights). If you have two or more children then the oldest goes free. 

    All meals are provided, we will be serving vegetarian/vegan food for this weekend.

    If you would like to pay the benefactor rate (additional 25%), this helps to support the work of Othona by providing bursaries for those less able to come, please indicate this on the booking form.

    We welcome day visitors over the weekend, please indicate non-residential on the booking form. The cost per day including lunch and evening meal is £18/adult and £5/children over 7.

    Spaces are limited so please be prepared to share a room if possible or enjoy our camping area.
