We recently heard the sad news that Graham Allbright, a long term member of the Community, passed away on Christmas Eve. Graham had had a bad fall and was being cared for by the staff at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow until the end. There will be a service of thanksgiving to celebrate the life of Graham, who was always strong and reliable in life as in his faith. It was Graham's wish that his funeral should be simple and attended by his immediate family and close friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with Norma and the rest of their family. We give thanks for all that Graham contributed to Othona.

Matt is the CEO of Trustlinks, which is an independent charity supporting those experiencing mental health difficulties in South East Essex and a member of Othona. Matt ran our very popular summer event this year- Permaculture, Wellbeing and Community Change Week. Following the award of this funding we are planning to run the 'Essex Green Weekend' here at Othona over the first May Bank Holiday 30 April - 2 May 2022. We... Read More

As many of you know, John died on 11th April 21 aged 86, having been diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour in January. He died peacefully in his sleep in our Spanish home as he wished, and he now lies at peace in the village cemetery in Sedella.

Othona played a huge part in his life from his first visit aged 18 in 1953, when he was taken to the camp by Harold Johnson. He met his first wife Sylvia at Othona Bradwell, and he took their growing family of Janet, Peter, Malcolm and... Read More
